One third of a person’s life is spent in sleep, sleep is a must of life. People can not live without sleep.Sleep quality plays a vital role in human health. Good sleep can help us refresh and relieve fatigue. Lack of sleep can lead to a host of health problems, including short and long-term memory loss, depression, high blood pressure, mood changes and so on. Besides, according to research, sleep conditions may also affect hearing. One of the more common problems is tinnitus, and severe cases can even occur sudden deafness. Many young patients usually have a period of excessive fatigue before the onset of tinnitus, such as continuous overtime work, long-term stay up late, sleep time cannot be guaranteed. A study published in the Chinese Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine found that some patients with sleep apnea also had hearing problems.

 

In the past, popular science information made us generally believe that hearing problems mainly occur in the elderly group, but hearing problems have become increasingly younger. According to the data released by the World Health Organization, at present, about 1.1 billion young people (between 12 and 35 years old) in the world are facing the risk of irreversible hearing loss which has something to do with the stressful, fast-paced lifestyles of young people.

 

So, for your hearing:

1, Ensure adequate sleep, regular rest, early to go to bed and early to rise, when sleep disorders occur, medical treatment is needed timely .
2. Stay away from noise, protect your hearing, wear protective equipment when the noise is too large, or leave timely.
3.Learn to regulate emotions, relieve stress and anxiety, and take the initiative to seek professional help when needed, such as psychological counselors, psychiatrists, etc.
4. Maintain good living habits, quit smoking and drinking, and do not excessively clean the ear canal.
5. Use the headphones appropriately, do not wear headphones to sleep. Listening to music at a volume of no more than 60% for no more than 60 minutes at a time.
6. Use drugs reasonably and safely, avoid taking ototoxic drugs by mistake, read the drug instructions carefully, and follow the doctor’s advice.
